Shooting grade properly is critical to every facet of construction including excavation, pipe laying, forming footers and foundations as well as highway/roadway construction. GRADE CHECKING – 80 HOURS / 10 DAYS

Apprentices are instructed on the use of field level transits and laser levels as well as their
associated maintenance. Topics include:

  • Proper operation of laser levels
  • Maintenance of laser levels
  • Mathematics used in cuts, fills and slopes
  • Read, understand and use standard symbols in grade work
  • Construction layout tools & techniques
  • Measuring techniques & elevation controls
  • Roadway construction
